Meet at Stow-on-the-Wold car park, Fosse Way, located next to Tesco on the A429. (turn right at mini-roundabout for Town car park, don’t use Tesco one. Setting off from Stow, initially on the Monarch’s Way, we visit Broadwell, Donnington, and Upper Swell. Although the route includes more road walking than usual (so hopefully less mud, too), these are generally attractive, peaceful lanes, through lovely villages, as well as tracks and field paths. Bring refreshment for en-route break. We cross the A429, as well as walk along quiet minor roads. The last section is along a busier road, but there is a wide and attractive grass verge.
