Meet at the pedestrian underpass at the north end of Barton Road, just before Barton Road becomes Barton Lane which runs alongside the Northern By-pass. There is a spur off this road, also called Barton Road which services some flats. There is roadside parking here. Firm path walking skirting Barton Estate to Wick Farm then fieldpath to beyond the crematorium on Bayswater Road. Returning via path to walk alongside Bayswater Road behind the Mosaics development, crossing Northern By-pass then through St. Dunstan’s Park. From there pavement walking back to start. This may be the last time this walk can take place in open countryside as the whole of this greenbelt area is earmarked for housing development. Light-controlled pedestrian crossing on Northern By-pass. Dogs on leads. Public transport No.8 bus to Barton stops on the Barton side of the underpass. London Road well serviced with buses.
