Selecting walks

Every walk is different. They range in length from a half day walk as short as 4 miles to a longer all day walk of perhaps 8 miles or more. Some walks suggest bringing a snack for a short break en route; longer walks may suggest bringing a picnic for a lunch stop.

You can use the search box at the top of the walks page to select for a characteristic that is important to you.

Here are some examples of how to search for what you are looking for. In each case the orange square indicates where to click for that option.

  • To search for bus friendly walks click on the highlighted area of the search box:

click the + sign against the “Tags” option and then select the tick box marked “bus-friendly”:

Other options in the list of tags work similarly such as “Dogs on leads” or “Short walk”.


  • To search for walks with a particular leader or other text within the walk entries, type the search text into the highlighted box on the search bar:


  • You can also search for walks within a particular date range as follows:

and then use the calendar to choose the start and end dates:

If you use more than one element in your search then the results will list any walk that satisfies at least one of the criteria.

Note that for the time being it is not possible to search by geographic location.
