Meet at Wantage Manor Road Memorial car park, Manor Road on the A 338 (free). A circular walk from the book ‘Milestones to Millstones’ by Elaine Steane, with many interesting features. From Manor Road we pass the Market Square, King Alfred’s Statue and Wessex Flour Mill, a working mill, then walk to the spring-line villages of Letcombe Regis and Letcombe Basset and climb to the Ridgeway, returning via Letcombe Regis. Joint walk with the Ramblers. Late lunch at Courthill Centre on Ridgeway, café or picnic. Assistance dogs only. Buses from Oxford Abingdon, Didcot and Letcombe Regis.
