Annual outing to Newbury. Starting from Newbury Football Ground carpark, the walk takes us along the River Kennet/Kennet and Avon Canal with its characterful buildings and swing bridge. We pass the Lady Well as we head towards the River Lambourne to near the Watermill Theatre. We will have our picnic lunch in the ruins of Donnington Castle. Returning to our starting point via Shaw House and its gardens, currently there is no charge. We will organise a car share and details will be posted on Member’s WhatsApp group closer to the time.
