Meet at London Road at the top of Headington Hill, opposite Pullens Lane. A circular walk looking at milestones and boundary stones in Oxford – one of the best collections in the country, according to the Milestone Society, whose shortened walk this is. Starts at the top of Headington Hill, descends Cuckoo Lane, through peaceful Mesopotamia, then along city centre streets. Best stones at beginning of walk for those who don’t wish to return up Headington Hill (although through lovely park!). Bring refreshment for short en-
