This is the first section of the Oxford to Banbury Canal Walk, from Banbury to Heyford
Meet at Heyford Station car park (free) or outside Banbury Railway station for other travellers. Various travel options include bus travel. It is vital to contact the leader in advance to make travel arrangements and time to meet – Lyn Watkin.
We take the train to Banbury and then walk back to Heyford. This flat, even walk follows the Jurassic Way and Oxford Canal Walk passing many locks and lift bridges through the Oxfordshire countryside. Please bring snacks and a picnic lunch plus plenty to drink – canal shop at Aynho Wharf and tea shop at the end. Dogs on leads welcome.
