New walks leaders needed

The task of leading walks for OFS is falling on an ever decreasing number of members. For each six month period there are 26 weekends so if there is to be a walk at the weekend as well as one midweek then more leaders are needed so that 50 walks can be offered, it is not fair to ask a small number of leaders to be leading a walk every month in order for there to be a full programme. Meet at Kingston Blount Village Hall car park, off Bakers Piece. Voluntary donation to hall funds would be appreciated. A circular level walk around the base of the Chilterns through the springline villages of Aston Rowant and Sydenham. Bring refreshment for en-route break. Assistance dogs only. Jenny Byrne

Meet at Badby picnic area off the A361 road to Daventry, just north of the village centre, on the right after the turn to Newnham (B4037). An easy walk in Northamptonshire on the Knightley Way from Badby to Fawsley, where John Merrick stayed, and returning by Everdon and Newnham. Bring refreshment for an en-route break and a picnic. A short stretch along a B road. Assistance dogs only. If car sharing, essential to contact leader in advance by the Wednesday prior to the walk. Liz Adams

Meet at the gates to the University Parks, junction of Parks Road with the Banbury Road, Oxford. This is a circular joint walk with Oxford City Ramblers. An afternoon stroll around the Parks, along the Cherwell River and returning through Marston Fields. Bring picnic to eat afterwards in the park grounds. Sue Crisp

Meet at Cropredy Sports ground car park on Williamscot Road. A gently undulating with views over the Northants / Oxfordshire border countryside. The route is via the villages of Wardington, Chacombe and Williamscot finishing with a walk back into Cropredy along the Oxford Canal. Assistance dogs only. Bring refreshment for en-route break.
