New walks leaders needed

The task of leading walks for OFS is falling on an ever decreasing number of members. For each six month period there are 26 weekends so if there is to be a walk at the weekend as well as one midweek then more leaders are needed so that 50 walks can be offered, it is not fair to ask a small number of leaders to be leading a walk every month in order for there to be a full programme. Saturday 2nd 9 miles
Walk the second stage of the Vale Way from Ardington to Stanford in the Vale. For further details and car sharing please contact Jim Parke 01865 730664 by Wednesday 29th June.

Sunday 3rd 11 miles
Day trip to Isle of Wight. Meet at the Lymington Ferry Terminal by 9.30 am to catch the 10.15 ferry sailing. Allow 2 hours driving time from Oxford and plenty of time for parking as it could be necessary to use overflow car park. A circular walk via Freshwater Bay, Tennyson Down, Totland Bay and Colwell Bay. This is subject to weather being suitable. A walk following the Kennet and Avon Canal to Crofton pumping station and on to the site of Wolfhall, the ancestral home of the Seymour family, and on to Wilton to see the windmill, returning through the original deer park and to the village of Great Bedwyn.
